Exterior House Painting in Mount Eden – Weatherboard Repaint Project
We recently completed a full exterior house painting project in Mount Eden, Auckland, working on a classic weatherboard home that required detailed preparation and careful attention to height and access challenges.
The goal of this project was to refresh and protect the exterior while delivering a clean, modern finish using high-quality Dulux paints.
The Project
This home featured traditional weatherboards with cedar tile accents and included a few sections that were more difficult to access due to their height. Careful planning and attention to detail were important to achieve an even finish across the entire exterior.
Some of the existing weatherboards had become quite weathered over time and required more extensive preparation before painting could begin. These areas received heavier sanding, along with the standard preparation process carried out throughout the rest of the property to help create a smoother and more consistent appearance.
Paint System & Colours
We used premium Dulux exterior paints throughout the property to ensure durability and long-term weather protection.
The selected colours were:
- Weatherboards: Manorburn Double
- Cedar tiles: Maraetai
These tones were chosen to give the home a refreshed, natural look while still respecting its original character.
Challenges & Execution
One of the main challenges in this project was working at height in certain sections of the home. This required careful setup and planning to ensure safe access and consistent coverage across all exterior surfaces.
Despite the complexity, we were able to maintain a smooth workflow and deliver a high-quality finish with strong attention to detail.
